David Holston

Executive Director

David’s in an Executive Director. His role involves working closely with a range of clients, assisting in developing consulting staff and contributing to the business strategy for JANA . He is also a member of the JANA Board and a member of the JANA Research Committee.

Prior to joining JANA in 1999, he was CEO/MD at both National Financial Management (NFM) and National Australia Trustees. He was also concurrently a Director of the National Australia Bank Staff Superannuation Fund and Chairman of the Investment Committees for both the fund and for NFM’s retail investment master trusts.

David holds the degrees of Bachelor of Arts and Bachelor of Education from the University of Melbourne, as well as a Graduate Diploma in Business and a Diploma in Superannuation Management. He also holds a Diploma of Financial Planning. David was a Director of ASFA from 1996-2007.

Domien Beckers

Consultant

Domien is a Consultant and a member of the Fixed Interest and Portfolio Construction Research Teams.

Prior to joining JANA in 2010, he worked as an assistant portfolio manager at Vanguard Investments. His responsibilities during this time covered both domestic and international equities.

Domien holds a Master in Finance from the Leuven Business School as well as a MBA from the Melbourne Business School. Domien became a CFA charter holder in June 2011.

Duncan Smith

Head of Consulting

Duncan is the Head of Consulting, which involves ensuring our Consultants provide clients with the highest possible level of service. Duncan is a senior member within the Australian Equities Research Team, former Head of our Property Research Team and a member of the JANA Research Committee.

Before joining JANA in 2007, Duncan spent 12 years with the NAB Superannuation Fund as Assistant Fund Secretary and Finance Manager, which included responsibility for the Investment Function of the Fund. Amongst other responsibilities the role involved managing a direct property portfolio and general oversight of the Funds investments. Duncan has held positions on Investor Boards and Advisory Boards of both property and Infrastructure Funds.

Duncan has a Graduate Diploma in Applied Finance & Investments, Graduate Diploma in Financial Planning and a Bachelor of Business. Duncan is also a Fellow of the FINSIA and a member of CPA.

Fariba Momeni

Senior Client Service Analyst

Fariba is a Senior Client Service Analyst. She Joined JANA in 1999 as part of Client Service Group with responsibility for data entry and producing monthly and quarterly reports.

Fiona Addison

Client Service Analyst

Fiona is a Client Service Analyst.

Prior to joining JANA in 2011, Fiona worked at MLC where she was part of the Asset Migration Team responsible for the transition of assets.

Fiona holds a Bachelor of Commerce from Deakin University.

Gary Wilson

Senior Consultant

Gary is a Senior Consultant and member of JANA’s Portfolio Construction and Global Equities Research Teams.  He also contributes to JANA’s research of SRI and ESG Investing.

Prior to joining JANA in 2008, Gary was a Senior Financial Adviser with Snowball Group where he provided portfolio advice to high net worth retail investors. From 2002 to 2006, he was a Director of the Qantas Superannuation Plan and was Chairman of the Qantas Superannuation Plan Investment Committee from 2003 to 2006.

Gary holds a Bachelor of Commerce (Accounting/Finance) from the University of N.S.W. and a Graduate Diploma of Financial Planning from the Financial Services Institute of Australasia (FINSIA). He is a Fellow of FINSIA.

Greg Clerk

Principal Consultant

Greg is the Head of Portfolio Services, a member of the Quantitative Systems team, and provides investment and administration advice to superannuation funds.

Greg holds a Doctorate in Theoretical Physics, from the University of Melbourne.

Ian Patrick

Chief Executive Officer

Ian is our Chief Executive Officer, managing JANA’s commercial interests and the day-to-day operations of the firm. In addition, Ian manages a number of client advisory relationships, and was formerly the head of Global Equities research.

Before joining JANA in 2002, Ian was a Principal at Mercer Human Resource Consulting in Sydney. Previously, Ian worked for Alexander Forbes in Johannesburg.

Ian holds a Bachelor of Science (Honours) degree and a Master of Business Administration from the University of Witwatersrand, Johannesburg. He qualified as a Fellow of the Faculty of Actuaries (Edinburgh) in 1991, and is also a Fellow of the Institute of Actuaries of Australia. Ian is a CFA charter holder.

James Matt

Investment Analyst

James is an Investment Analyst.

Prior to joining JANA in 2010, James held the role of Investment Analyst at Plum Financial Services. In 2007, he commenced with MLC on a two-year Graduate program, which included a number of roles in Sales and Distribution, Strategy, Retail Investment Product and Business Superannuation.

James holds a Bachelor of Commerce and Bachelor of Science Degree from The University of Melbourne. He was also awarded an Advanced Diploma of Financial Services in 2009 and is currently a CFA level 3 candidate.

Jeremy Wilmot

Senior Consultant

 Jeremy is a Senior Consultant and a member of the Global Equity research team.

Prior to joining JANA in 2008, he worked at Southern Cross Broadcasting (SBC) in Corporate Strategy.  In that role, Jeremy focused mainly on acquisitions/divestments and was involved in the takeover transaction of SBC by Macquarie Media Group.  Previously, he worked in Group Treasury with NAB as an analyst with an emphasis on interest rate management.

Jeremy holds a Bachelor of Commerce and a Bachelor of Information Systems from the University of Melbourne.

Jeremy Yap

Consultant

Jeremy is a Consultant and a member of the Australian Equities and Fixed Interest and Cash research teams.

Prior to joining JANA in 2007, he was a member of the MLC Graduate Program where he spent most of his time within their retail financial planning group. Prior to this role, he was a mortgage analyst with a subsidiary of the Commonwealth Bank of Australia.

Jeremy holds a Bachelor of Business (Banking & Finance) and a Bachelor of Computing from Monash University. He is currently a Level 2 candidate in the Chartered Financial Analyst program.
